  If Scientist Mastered DNA???

  some day maybe scientist will be able to read dna.. and maybe someday they might learn how to program dna with computers.. this to me doesn't seem that far away.. when they do they will be able to create new life forms, in effect play god.. do you think will man make life vastly better then when he can design it useing dna or someother molecule to make new life.. will altruisim guide him in what he does with his new abilities?.

  the watchtower society dates noah's flood to 2370 b.c.e.

  they do this by following bible chronology quite closely, counting backwards from 607 b.c.e., their date for babylon's destruction of jerusalem.

  however, as we know, the society's date for that event is in error.

  When I first read this post I commented:"Very interesting"

  I think it is interesting but I don't feel that enough evidence has been uncovered yet to proclaim it as fact.
  And I don't think anyone here is really saying this is a fact.

  It will be interesting to see what is uncovered when they do a more thorough investigation on land.

  I think to prove meteors/meteor could cause what the Bible say happened back then durring the flood, you would need some very good mathematicians and well respected scientists to do so.

  I think achristian bought up some interesting information that may or may not be correct. Right now it is still speculation that's all.

  To be fair I have too say both atheist and theist are too quick to proclaim somethings fact if it fits their beleif system.

  To be honest and not prejudicial in examining these things is very hard for both sides, which makes it important not to be too quick in drawing our conclusions.

  Nice work!

  One thing that really bothered me as a JW, was as you so clearly brought out the WT constant bragging.
  Some times they would pour it on so thick it made me sick.

  The abundance of quotes you gave are just the tip of the Iceberg, and in no way an exaggeration.
  Hopefully some JW lurkers will see things a little more clearly.

  but i do like it and i was inspired to make this post after reading ashitaka's fine poem in eulogy of his grandfather.

  i've been asked by a few who were present at my mother's funeral and wake to go ahead and post a part of my eulogy here.

  Did Crisis of Conscience damage you?

  it has been suggested, by a man we know, that those who read crisis of conscience, are left with a feeling of despair and are "cast adrift" after reading it.

  it is his opinion that the book shouldn't have been written, because it does harm to people.

  i do not agree, and would like to hear from anyone who has an opinion to share, so i can print all this out and show it to him.. comments, everyone, please????

  I think the Truth about anything is better than lie.
  So I don't hesitate to tell any JW the Truth about the lies they have been told.
  I don't care if he on his death bed and has 2 months to live.
  If Daniel Sydlyck was going to die tomorrow and I had the ability to convince him he is not chosen by God to be part of the GB of JWs I would do it!
